OK ASSES ON THE LINE! Empty OK ASSES ON THE LINE!

Megson seems to be keeping his job for now.
Will a defeat against city see him out the door?
Will a good result V city see him get further leeway in the coming months?
Only time will tell.

But let's guess anyway.

Put your powers to the test and tell me what results you expect us to achieve if Megson stays for the rest of 2009.

<table cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=131 border=0><tr><td class=gffffff vAlign=top width=10></TD></TR></TABLE><table cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=629 border=0><tr><td vAlign=top width=416>
Bolton v Man City, 15:00 L 1-2
Bolton v West Ham, 20:00 W 3-2
Wigan v Bolton, 20:00 L 2-0
Burnley v Bolton, 14:00 L 3-1
Bolton v Hull, 20:00 W 2-1
</TD></TR></TABLE>
I think 5 or 6 points from the next 5 games.
I would like more, but I would also like Meggo to go.
That would mean 17 or 18 points from 19 games.
If thats the case he still has to go, its pure relegation form. (season = 38points)
Three wins before new year, entirely possible, I would still like him to leave but it wonthappen because the form will be better.

Bolton v Man City - D 1-1
Bolton v West Ham - W 2-1
Wigan v Bolton - L 2-1
Burnley v Bolton - L 2-1
Bolton v Hull - W 2-1

That's another 7 points from me, so 19 pts. Not good enough. Oh, and that's me being optimistic, so it could very possibly be much worse.

19 points at years end! He's got to go. 13 points is the only way he should be kept around and even that is being generous as the total would still only be 25 points at year's end.

its probably one of the easiest new years run ins anyone has. If we dont make it count by going to matches expecting to get 3 points then we should never go to a megson match again.

will we be attacking looking for goals and wins or still playing damage limitation football at home to hull and west ham?

It's not the asses on the line that worry me, it's those in the starting eleven.

As for results;

Bolton v City L 1-3 I think their attacking line will be too strong for our back five, swine flu or not.
Bolton v West Ham W 1-0 We 'can' beat West Ham, especially if I'm wrong about the City result.
Wigan v Bolton W 0-1 A local derby we need to be getting max points from.
Burnley v Bolton W 1-2 Finally we're on a roll and working our way up the league.
Bolton v Hull L0-1 The dream is over and we can yet again kiss Europe, but not Megson, goodbye.

Bolton v City L 1-2
Bolton v West Ham D 2-2
Wigan v Bolton L 2-1
Burnley v Bolton L 3-2
Bolton v Hull D 2-2

2 draws and a lot of bad football!
I think hampo, my prediction will be closer than yours.
Good luck though.

We shall see, your 9 points v my 2 points, who will be closer?

Bolton v City L 0-2
Bolton v West Ham W 2-1
Wigan v Bolton D 1-1
Burnley v Bolton L 2-0 (and a whole day of gloating, yes a whole day due to the time difference, from my girlfriend's Dad)!
Bolton v Hull W 2-0 (FIRST CLEAN SHEET!!!!!)

7 points!

Enough to see us out of the bottom 3? Possible. Enough to keep Megson in a job? Probably!

Bloody Hell DH, Burnley's only up the road, I don't think there'll be much of a time difference.

Peter, optimistic or not, I've already got a point more than I, and many others, expected. OK ASSES ON THE LINE! Icon_eek

Your prediction is already gone. Shame! Fingers crossed Hampo will be close. 9 points would be very handy. Nearly half way there.

I wouldn't say so. If we were a League 2 Club, we'd beat West Ham at home. That's guaranteed!

Got a bonus point against City but I expect us to beat Hull. They're not even half the team without Bullard.

So far, I've got the 4 points I predicted. Next up Wigan, where I have us down for a loss.

Bear in mind that we were entertaining vs. City and very dull/boring vs. West Ham.

However, Klasnic and Cahill seem to be scoring for fun...hope that continues for a long time.
