Bolton fans seem to call my phone-in regularly, but they should show the same passion in the stands.
I was at the Reebok Stadium for the visit of Manchester City.
And I know their fans have been quick to point out manager Gary Megson’s failings for sometime.
But Bolton’s support both in number and volume was some of the worst I have ever seen and heard in the Premier League.
They are a big, old traditional club who have been in the Premier League for a while now.
And I think Bolton’s players do play for the manager because they work their socks off and are hard to break down.
Admittedly they are not easy on the eye and need some refinement.
But surely the team deserve the Bolton fans to get behind them more as they try to avoid relegation because their support at the weekend was woeful.

For one thing - he watched the City game, he said the players work their socks off and are hard to break down but we are not easy on the eye.

What he doesn't understand though is, if he thinks that was uneasy on the eye he aint seen nothin yet! That was the most passionate, most constructive most attacking and most pleasing on the eye we have been for more than 12 months. So if he thinks that was difficult to watch then he needs to understand that for Bolton fans that was a dream match. If we played with that spirit and ambition in other matches we wouldn't be complaining. He thinks that that is our general performance level, we can only dream.
It wasn't perfect but it was way better than recent months.

If he saw how we usually set up and perform then he would be in for a heart attack and would see where we were coming from with our complaining and lack of passion! We have witnessed some of the worst perfomances anyone has ever seen in the prem, not just as a one off but as a regular this is how we play way of playing.

Jayjay, your response is precisely what Stan is trying to achieve. He's now a professional wind-up merchant and he relies on people getting annoyed by what he says...it means more people will visit his website, buy his books, etc.
