Took my kids to the West Ham game Empty Took my kids to the West Ham game

Post by White Lion on Wed Dec 16, 2009 3:39 pm

I attended my first match for nearly 3 years on Tuesday night. My kids had been naughty on Monday evening so as punishment I took them to The Reebok to watch Bolton. Plus they are now 9 & 7 and had recently asked for Man Utd shirts for Christmas, Drastic action was required , so off to the match we went.

Now things have changed a bit since I last attended.

They don't seem to sell programmes anymore
Some of our footballers(Muamba and Taylor in particular) can't play football
I couldn't get a drink at half time ,as I didn't know the Somalian word for Bovril
We've got some new songs (only kidding)
We ran for the car with a couple of minutes left to find we didn't really need to.

I was hoping the Superwhites would make a lasting impression on my two lads to veer them away from the lure of prawn sandwiches.
During the first half I had my doubts, especially as I caught my eldest playing 'snake' on my phone. The first half was so poor I only wish I had turned to 'snake' before him.

I'm just glad it was a game of 'two halves' and the Superwhites came out fighting in the second half. The kids loved it and have asked to attend again.

When do we next play somebody as shite as West Ham?

I would advise them that the prawn sandwiches are much better at the Emirates, as is most else, so they would be better off supporting Arsenal than United if that is what interests them.
