what are you doing for xmas...
Apparantly, "no you don't need to get me anything for xmas this year, we have each other and thats all that matters" is not what women really mean when they say it.
What are peoples plans and what special remedies have you come up with in order to cope with the financial crunch?
We are staing in over xmas and supposedly not getting gifts... but we both know we have already bought stuff, well, the other day a few packages came for her, inside them were books and dvds off my amazon wish list... so i had to then get on amazon quick and start ordering.

We are just doing "stocking stuffers" for each other as we are going down to Oz and NZ at years end, to do some hiking before spending 5 days in Fiji prior to returning home.

My wife said she wanted a divorce for Christmas but I really wasn't planning on spending that much.

Re: what are you doing for xmas...
I think I might be working on getting the flu for Christmas.
Other than that, I anticipate receiving much smaller items as gifts this year. We have scaled back Christmas due to the economy; plus, I don't really need any big items. I've ummed and awwed about getting a BluRay or a DVD Recorder but they aren't a 'must' and so I think I'll wait on them for now.

£50 limit for presents. Cheap DVDs are the presents of choice. More to open. Flying to Canada Christmas Eve. Should be there in time for festive fun looking at the lights, a White Spot tea and a jet lagged Christmas morning. Quality!
Shame I miss the Hull match but I'm pissed off that it got moved to Tuesday anyway.

Vacnouver, but I may need to take out the shovel here before I get anywhere. I hope the snow clears in 48 hours and the roads / airports are back to normal.

Ah Vancouver, you will have a great time, no need to worry about snow there, as they only get the odd fall now and again. Have you got family there, and have you been before?

Re: what are you doing for xmas...
Vancouver Island to be specific. They have had snow but not enough to make life difficult. Plus they're used to it and seem far more prepared than us. My girlfriend's parents emigrated there in 2004 so I've been fortunate to have been over several times, most recently in August.
Great place to visit! Hoping to stay there for three months next summer once I've finished my post grad course.
Thinking about emigrating ourselves perhaps but not to Courtenay. Bit too quiet for me at this stage of my life. Hopefully to vancouver or Victoria. Long way off yet though.
