This Country
What is it with this bloody country???
Now the Sunderland game is off too, like a few others due to conditions surrounding the ground rather than the state of the pitch.
Now, it may just be me, but surely the ONLY concern or responsiblity of the club is to ensure a fit and proper playing surface, and gritted terrac... no, just the playing surface.
If the weather or conditions around the ground aren't great then it surely is my responsibility (and mine alone) to decide whether I feel safe travelling to and from the ground??? What sort of nanny state do we live in where a football club makes a judgement call on others' behalf to say it's not safe for them to travel to a game?
Bloody fannies.... get the games ON!!!!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, rant over.

its the Police who make the decision... on health and safety grounds... clubs can't play games without the police....!

Re: This Country
It is pathetic really,we have had a good 6 inches of snow down here in Bristol but i have made it in to work on time every day, without too much trouble, life has to go on .My kids school has beeen closed for 3 days because of the weather,It is only a junior school and all the pupils who go there live within about a mile and a half and would actually have no trouble getting in. I don't recall ever being off school when i was young due to snow. I agree with Mangler people have got to be allowed to make their own decisions on wether to travel or not.

Re: This Country
Did you not know Labour abolished it? Apparently it is bad for us. They have also tried to abolish effective democracy by twisting the boundaries of constituencies so the tories have to get a lot more votes to win than them, but it looks like they are so bad that even that won't save them.

They even have a leader who no-one voted for, apart from a few crazy Scots.

Re: This Country
The one plus is that the game is one that is winnable but it would have come too early for Mr Coyle. Now, with the manager in place for a few games, hopefully some of them won, backed by a bumper away following and, who knows, maybe even a new signing or two, I feel more confident winning the rearranged fixture than tomorrow. Plus, money permitimg, I can attend the rearranged game whereas tomorrow's game was impossible as I only arrived back in the UK at 3pm today.
f*ck*r there is no footy tomorrow though but it gives Coyle a week to prepare for Arsenal and hopefully a memorable first game.

Re: This Country
the game was scheduled to be shown here tape delayed tomorrow; however, it stands a chance of not being shown now, if it is played on a night when there are other games on, especially if they are top 6 teams...grrrrr!

Re: This Country
Dh spot on, once coyle has had a chance to whip the team into shape we will stuff Sunderland but with Wigley and Evans in effective control as they would have been we could easily have lost.
Looks like Elmander may be going to Marseilles, I do hope so, if we got £5m for him, he still has a good rep in France, I would be happy and it would give us some extra punch in the market, we really need three new players.
