remember wilhelmsson?
bit random i know but...
Well he is still playing for sweden internationally and doing well, and last season scored 9 goals in 29 league and cup appearences.
This season he has scored 2 in 2 games.
not bad for a winger?
I still think he could have been a really decent player for us on the wing. I think sammy lee bought him, no?
Wish we had sammy lee, phil brown and owen coyle in charge.
Just found the info while browsing around, also noticed that elmander scored for sweden too when they beat finland a month or so back.

Re: remember wilhelmsson?
I think that Wilhelmson was too lightweight for the Premiership. You can't always use stats...especially when the stats are from different leagues or country vs. club.

Re: remember wilhelmsson?
In fairness Wilhelmsson was no more lightweight than Lee who is great. I think he was never given a chance, Little sam lost his nerve and Megson never played him, I think in the right set up he could have done a job, not as good as lee though.

Re: remember wilhelmsson?
I disagree with your comparison of Wilhelmson v. Lee. Lee will take on other players with little to no fear.
Wilhelmson, if I recall correctly, was lightweight and failed every time he tried to take anyone on or if anyone took him on.
However, I do agree that he wasn't given a fair wack at the Premiership with us. He wasn't alone though, Borgetti was also another that would have done well with us if given the opportunity and playing to his strengths.
