Re: Big Big chance
I for one have had enough. I caught the game today, when it was shown about 30 hours after it finished! Such is our drawing power these days. Anyway I fired off an e-mail to PG asking him how much longer we have to put up with the drivel that was put forth against Burnley. Taking off a striker ( and arguably our best finisher) for a midfield player and then a creative, attacking player for a more defensive player. We are not going to survive pinching points here and there. I pointed out that Birmingham were desperately unlucky not to get all 3 points off Chelsea, and the fact they played with not one, but two strikers as well. We, as Bolton fans, can only dream that we will be that fortunate. I would urge anyone who cares to follow suit, because I fear with Megson in charge we are not going to survive this campaign. One last thing, what the hell was Robinson doing when the ball was crossed in for Nugent to head home? It was schoolboy stuff at best, "Here you go mate, knock in a cross and see if you can land it on someone's head, I'll give you a freebie". Bring back Jay Lloyd Samuel at the earliest opportunity, he may not be a psycho like Robinson but at least he can defend.

Re: Big Big chance
Pete, but we did OK in the first half and you haven't even mentioned that. How can you describe an entire game by leaving out the first 45 minutes...or was that entirely deliberate because it would mean you couldn't moan? Have some balance fella.

Re: Big Big chance
I agree about the point on Robbo... he did seem in trouble against Burnley, although has had a couple of good games before that so will give him chance.
I watched MOTD again last night, and I'm still staggered at what on earth Zat Knight was up to early in the first half... he makes bloody Titus Bramble look solid!

Re: Big Big chance
I've said it before and I'll say it again...how many times do we see the wingers/wide midfielders coming back to double up against the threat of the opposition wide men? Hardly ever this season. I've seen Hull play four times this year and Stephen Hunt has prevented that many runs through on goal by tracking back that I've lost count. Whenever we attack Lee has got at least two men on him within seconds, same with Taylor but at the other end Gretar and Robinson are one against one at best and more often trying to track two men. There are obviously occasions when we do get back but not as a standard.
That's the big difference between us and other teams this season...apart from our name and stadium and the baldness.

Re: Big Big chance
Agreed we did well in the first half, but at best would only have been in front by a goal at half time based on each teams chances, which we were. We got absolutely hammered in the 2nd half. How many chances do we need to give Robinson? he's bound to have a decent game every once in a while, so does that mean we keep him in the team?

Re: Big Big chance
Pete, Robbo played very well prior to the Burnley match...certainly much better than Samuel had been playing of late so I can't see how your logic is working. Samuel has been one of the weak links in our game (one of many I agree) and it was right to drop him.

Re: Big Big chance
By the way, if you write pages and pages of moans and groans to Gartside he's less likely to reply. And if you say anything like "I will no longer attend while Megson is the manager...", etc...you can be certain he won't bother and rightly so in my opinion.

Re: Big Big chance
Surely when fans state they will no longer attend is the prime time to respond Breeze!
A fair number have already turned away, whether they've emailed Gartside or not. We can't afford to lose to many more.
And I will state that I did email Gartside yesterday; which is the first time I've contacted him in a long while and even the last time was related to the messageboard, not the team, manager or results.

Re: Big Big chance
I've just emailed Gartside to thank him for his efforts over the last 10 years or so, and to commend him on his bold appointment of Gary Megson... indeed, I added that 'football people' understand his decision.

Re: Big Big chance
Breeze, any e-mail that I send is a well thought out piece of literature. I don't believe in ranting or raving as that gets you nowhere. I pointed out the obvious shortcomings of Megson and how we are going to get relegated unless we get rid.
Oh, and I also told him that someone on a Bolton messageboard by the name of Breeze had actually dared me to do so!!!

Re: Big Big chance
Well, I've emailed him again tonight. I expect no response from either emails. I would hope that Megson is sacked due to results, not my email.

Re: Big Big chance
ooops, yea, dont know where i got hull twice from...
anyway.
for me, its not about results, yeah we need enough to stay up, and that is fone for me, its everything else that is not enough.
i dont neccessarily mean ambition as in a top 7 finish when i say ambition, i mean in footballing terms.
have the ambition to go out and take on every team from man utd down to hull and co. attack them, play great football, entertain us. and in the mean time pick up some points.
when bsa did the long ball thing it kind of had a purpose, and we had a "way" of doing it. now we just play badly, not even long ball all the time, we just play badly and pick poor players etc.
