Crowd totally against Megson
Breeze has told us that if we were but to go to away games, we would see that the real fans are right behind Megson. Well I went to Burnley today and, well, they are not. They loathe him. At half-time with us leading the chant was "Owen Coyle he get's the ball, he scores a goal, Owen, Owen Coyle", yes that was our fans. You should have seen the look of hatred as Megson went into the tunnel, which is under the end stand with the away fans in it. We had been barely adequate in the first half, some decent moves but also some glimpses of the carnage we would see later in the game when they attacked Robinson and Knight. Second half we were dire, Coyle deliberately targeted our left flank, Robinson and Knight were utterly appalling. both should have been taken off neither were. Taylor, other than a wonderful goal was totally anonymous. Rather than go back at them, we crawled into our shell, ritual Megson cowardice, KD was withdrawn to the right of midfield leaving Klasnic to plough a lonely and pointless furrow alone, a role any idiot can see he is not suited to. Then Megson took off Klasnic and the crowd turned on him totally, we had gone from a goal up to trying to hang onto the draw, but we had started defending for the draw before Burnley even scored, it was pathetic. Taylor laboured on, barely able to jog, he is clearly not fit and Megson has form for playing unfit players, AOB play most of last season with a groin strain. Megson wandered the touch line occasionally berating one of our players, while Coyle passionately urged his team on to attack and win. Megson was booed and jeered, several chants of you don't know what your doing rang out. Then at the end the hatred and contempt for him poured from the terrace as he had to walk toward us, he saw the hate for him and we could see his for us. Then as he went under the stand the fans made plain who they want to replace him as a again the call rang out "Owen, Owen Coyle...", how Megson must have seethed as he listened to it reverberate through the stand. So breeze what you have been saying is simply not true the away fans loathe Megson just like everyone else.

into the bottom three we already were!
and yes, megson should go, every club he touches the fans just never like him or the football he produces.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
From my bar stool i thought the first half was bolton's,
Second half was all burnley, klasnic could/should have put us 2 goals up before half time.
basham was quite good, And a point is more than anyone thought we would get.........

Tim, that was nearly two months ago...and I said after the Wolves game that the tide appeared to have turned.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
I'd have given us 75% of the first half to Burnley's 25%.
Knight is shocking...appalling!
Second half belonged mainly to Burnley.
I predicted a draw. We've not won away from home this season, I believe. However, since we only got 1pt, we had BETTER beat Hull at home...presuming the club hold onto Megson through our next away day.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
Breeze don't get you panties in a bunch. Typically you are of course trying to distract attention from Mr Megson. It is time he went, second half we were battered and it was due to us backing off. Megson said he knew they would come at us after half time, so why did we not try to go toe to toe, instead of defending and dropping to one forward. I cannot understand how he has not got that we cannot defend, so we might as well attack. The man is a bad joke.

in his defense, we dropped back to hold onto a point and we got it.
in his not defense (opposite of defense) we dropped back to hold onto a point.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
We dropped back before they scored, that is abject cowardice, and we should have lost they could have put five past us it was only their poor finishing and luck that got us a point. Can you imagine any other manager, I was about to say in the league, but I will go for the planet, who one nil up playing against a smaller club, who have worse players, going for a point. It was pathetic.

No Tim, you just got it wrong and told a lie to start off a new thread...mainly because you haven't got anything new to say. About anything.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
I do you see, I am able to report the mood of the crowd, you have been doing so and everyone thought it was inaccurate but I can now say so for sure.
By the way I think it would have to be either that I got it wrong or that I told a lie, because if "I got it wrong" then that would be a mistake not a lie. A lie is a deliberate attempt to deceive, so which is it?

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
I said after the Wolves game that the tide had clearly turned and the anti-Megson chants were now evident. Prior to that only the odd few chanted and they were often shouted down by others.
If you actually went to a few matches you would have noticed the change as well...

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
I usually do go to quite a few away games, as you well know I love the Emirates, however, this season I have not been willing to push my schedule around to watch the garbage we are churning out, I think the season ticket is enough of a commitment at the present.

And for that reason you couldn't possibly know about the mood of the away fans and how they have changed from being ultra-loyal to frustrated to what you witnessed yesterday.

Breeze they have sung songs against Megson at away games before yesterday during this season. Are you still supporting his tenure?

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
It may have ebbed and flowed but there have been times that there have been chants of "you don't know what you are doing". You make it sound like dropping back was a one off and not in his character. His character is cowardice, Everton and Tottenham were exceptions not the rule. We settled for a draw when we were one nil up it was pathetic.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
Well you've been to one away match and a few home matches and I've only missed one game home and away all season...I'd say one of us is better placed than the other to report on the mood of the Bolton crowd.
You lied to start a thread...just get over it, I have.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
But your view is that bolton have terrible fans, you say no-one would want to come and manage us because of it, it is all drivel to protect you beloved Megson.
I did not start this thread with a lie, we disagree, you say that the fans have not chanted against Megson this season, I think they have, I believe that it has indeed been reported in the press.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
I'm not against Megson, and nor is my niece... she has a season ticket and is always well entertained at every home game. She brings her DS Lite.
IF we beat Hull, we'll leapfrog a number of teams and still have 1 or 2 games in hand. Megson is nowhere near getting the sack - still - and has only been on a very blunt knife-edge once, possibly twice, in his entire tenure at the club... over 2 years now. All that time you have been banging on and on and on and on and on and on and then on some more about how he should be sacked.
Don't you get bored, Tim?
The problem with moaning loudly and constantly like Bolton fans do, is that the board become so immune to it that they don't give a toss what the fans think. If the fans were remotely supportive of the club - like say, Stoke fans are of their club - then when we call for the manager's head then they would probably sit up and take action. Instead our board are aware that Megson was being called a wanker before he set foot in the place!
Liverpool is a good example... they NEVER boo and cat-call their manager - even though their guy is a first class numpty. As soon as they do (and I would expect that soon, by the end of this season) then Benitez will be gone.

Re: Crowd totally against Megson
He was a wanker before he came to our club and always will be.
Also we have to remember if we are realistic the game in hand at the Emirates will be tough to get anything from.
If the game is on the 6th of Jan you know I can't make it as I am overseas, one thing I am certain of is that I have been to the Emirates more than you!

Tim... you've been to the Emirates once and don't go to home games (remember your pleas for streamings at numerous home games last season ?) your argument gets ripped to shreds here and has done consistantly for the last couple of years...... I can't see what your point is.... ?

Josh I have been to the Emirates quite often, admittedly mostly Bolton were not playing, but it is a lovely stadium. I asked for a stream to a home game once as I was away, to continue to keep bringing it up is simply childish, were you at the Burnley game?

Tim, you've been to two away games in two seasons and yet every time we play you claim to know everything that Megson did wrong. I hate to divide the support but there comes a point when you can't really make an honest judgement about something you haven't seen.

no tim.... I haven't taken anything out of context or edited anything...I've merely put together a bunch of phrases and words that you repeat constantly..... sometimes in that order, sometimes back to front.... but always has the same meaning.....!
you see Tim... you never change the record.... you might mix it up, you might even try to throw us by adding a few new words..... but your message and meaning never changes....!
its basically full of ...... well you know what I'm on about...!
