Megson still going on about fans!
ARRGGGHHHHHH!
Have you heard him?
He has realised the press have some sympathy for him and now he is totally milking it!
I hate him now and have lost any respect I still had for him! What a penis!
HERES THE VID
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8437760.stm
He is so clinging on to that shred of nothing that he has in his defence. He is relying on the fact that most people have not seen what wen on at the Reebok during his time. That is how he is getting away with it and that is why outsiders think we are harsh and ungreatful! He is pulling the wool over everyones eyes, he is feeding them BS and they are lapping it up!
I really can't stand him.
HE TWISTS FACTS TO SUIT HIM -
He has absolutely raped everything he could out of the story that the club were in a right state when he took over and how terrible the circumstances were, he is so blowing his own ginger trumpet!
Then to conclude he went on about how great the club is now and that who ever takes over from him all the hard work has been done and he has turned it all around for us! what a poo head! He said it's a "very attractive job for somebody and they will be taking over a team that have gone 4 games unbeaten now with three points of 12th spot", twisting facts- its as if he is saying see it was working i had just taken the club on a good run and they sacked me, if we got rid of him before the city game what the hell would he have relied upon then??? It would have been 1 win in 10 games, 21 goals conceeded in 7 games, no clean sheet all season, players falling out with manager, dropping points left right and centre. What the hell would he have said?
He is an annoying poisoned little man, and the media, motd and the bbc have always had something against Bolton and now they are even bumming megson because its a new way to slag us off.
If any other manager spoke about their team and its fans like he is doing the media would slate them, call them arragant, and say it no wonder he was disliked! they would call him unprofessional.
IM SURE OF IT! they would say its no way for a manager to talk about the fans.

Re: Megson still going on about fans!
oh he also continuued to bum himself saying he had left it the fittest team in the league! and the hardest working!
"scored more goals from set pieces" - wow, cheers gary, more proof that we cant score real goals and your trying to make it sound good!
APPARANTLY - he said we are the lowest spending team in the premiership!!! Is that really right? Does he mean if you take our total number of season in the top flight and divide it by the amount of money spent in total? because im sure we are not the lowest spenders during his reign!
fittest?
have you seen taylor or davies trying to run?
(does he mean not many injuries on the list? because if so then thats another point against him, that means wehave the least injury problems and yet still cant do better than 2 draws in a row)
he said in another interview -
"At times it has just been a bounce of the ball. For example on Tuesday (against Hull) if Paul Robinson had managed to get his foot round the ball we would have had two more points."
I hate how he goes on about bounce of the ball!
It is not bounce of the ball or rub of the green that was our problem. If anything we are lucky to even have anypoints on the board! we could easily be bottom with the performances we have churned out and if you say "IF" this that and the other had happened about all of our games this season we would be saying stoke could have scored 10, west ham should have beat us, etc etc, if you counted all the ifs then most of them would add up to us having less points not more!

Burnley's player budget is £14m a year ours is £40m, not sure Gary can add up.

Re: Megson still going on about fans!
Well, I heard the interview and his comments and it pissed me off too that he is still bleating on and that the media are allowing it. Most managers, when sacked, keep a low profile for some period afterwards; not going to the media to harp on about how good they are and what a great job they did that enabled them to be sacked.
He's also gone from calling us "fans" to "them" to "spectators", which are obviously in his book a negative name for us.

Re: Megson still going on about fans!
To be honest, you can't blame him if he hasn't got a soft spot for us... the names he was called before he even walked in continued until he left!! If he refers to us as 'spectators' then that's probably as polite as we can expect him to be.
And I think it's pretty hard on him to keep giving him a bashing... he managed to keep us up in a really turmoil-filled 2-years for the club, changing practically the whole knackered old playing staff that we had when he arrived. That's a tough thing to do whilst all and sundry are on your back.
Ultimately I think he wasn't great, but also he wasn't nearly as bad as can be made out. I am though, glad he's gone now and hopeful of a new manager that can get us going again, with a squad that Megson has left that has some useful players in it... under the age of 55!!

Re: Megson still going on about fans!
I just came across the twerp's interview after the hull game on sky sports, what a prat, he basically said we would only be happy if we were in the top four, if OC gets the job I hope Megson is watching and gets to see how we receive someone we actually want at the club.

It's a fair point tough...if we get Coyle and he plays attractive football but we're still in the bottom three the moaning will return.

Breeze he said we would only be happy in the top four how is that the same as people moaning if we are in the bottom three, there are 13 places between his point and yours.

I disagree -
if we can see our team "attempting" to perform well then we will be a lot happier.
attempting is the key word. its what we lacked before, nobody is going to moan as long as the manager and the players are doing everything they can to win. if we do the best we can and still lose then thats all we can ask for.

It would just be nice to think that web forums will be empty during match times instead of being infested by the 'die-hards' telling how bad things are and how they are suffering.

Re: Megson still going on about fans!
I doubt Coyle will drop KD, certainly not in the short term, in time he may try to phase him out, but that is only sensible bearing in mind his age and the fact that he surely cannot keep up this level of physicality indefinitely.
In terms of Megson whilst he is a first class prat, it was pretty humiliating what was done to him against Hull, the last of many indignities at the club for him, he needs to try and shift the blame, after this and Forest he is going to really struggle to get a job, what Chairman will want to go to war with his fans over him?
