Curiosity finally got the better of me and I tried to access the official club sites message boards. Would you believe they are still down ? I wonder if any other sites are in the same boat ?

Not sure when I last tried to go on the official board but it seems like quite a while.

I don't even go to the home page for "news". What's the point? There is more BW news at Skysports, Teamtalk, and even the BBC!

correct, when ever there is "official" news it ends up on a sports website within minutes anyway. and there is the added bonus of other news about the club on those other sites, the bwfc site hardly ever tells you anything.

As an ardent user of the official web site my log ins since the message board was removed have been limited. I dont find any new information on there as opposed to the usual BBC/ SKY where there seems more. I did e mail Tony Kelly of the situation explaining that without this facility genuine people who communicate with each other have since lost contact. He did return the e mail and this is as follows.

The club has received a number of enquiries regarding the message board and I’d like to explain the reasoning behind the decision to take it offline.



The club is currently holding a review of its web communications with a view to making it more user-friendly. This process is currently ongoing and we hope to resolve it shortly.



It is certainly not the intention to silence our supporters as we fully welcome and appreciate all forms of feedback, whether positive or negative.

I don't believe that response for a minute... there's no way TK can spell all those long words!

Typical cop out from the club Denn, I mean how long does it take to review something and then act accordingly ? I believe our club is run by a bunch of amateurs with no ambition to move the club onwards and upwards. Very frustrating.

Calm down Pete, what's a web forum being taken offline got to do with ambition?

Surely it's about bums on seats.

We must be nearer "months" of the site being down, rather than "weeks" by now.

They are as much reviewing the site's messageboard for upgrading as Tim is pro-Megson.

Breeze, read Kelly's response and tell me they care about the fans ? If you are prepared to accept that kind of attitude so be it. However living in North America where service is everything, fans tend to get listened to and accommodated, and personally I find that kind of patronizing attitude distasteful.

Pete, Kelly's response is not his own - he's been told to write that.

I don't think the club doesn't listen to the fans, I just think the club doesn't understand them and if they do their 'review' (which obviously is just invented) they will find that hits to the main website will be down as a result of closing the forum. But you have to remember we have a club run by old men...it's a bit like asking for a pool table to be installed in the Members Bar at the Palace of Westminster.

Well if that's true Breeze I think we should plot to overthrow the board then. Who's in ?

What, all because of a pool table? Let's put this into perspective...

Don't worry BREEZE, things will improve when the Bullingdon Boys take up the reins.

It will be pool tables and pink gins for everybody.
