jussi? drop?
Jussi was 50% to blame at least for the first two goals last night. He doesn't know when to come out and he doesn't command the area. For me he doesn't distribute the ball very well compared to Ali Al Habsi. Which is very important. See next point...

Re: jussi? drop?
Last night I noticed Davies and co marking the defenders when ever Almunia had the ball. We did it especially well for the opening 30 minutes and it really stifled that outlet for them.
Almunia was looking to throw the ball wide every time, it leads to a lot of their good moves, they start at the back. As soon as we closed that option to them it meant that he was forced to kick long several times which makes it 50/50 for who will get the ball.
But at the other end, much of the time Jussi blasts it long when there are passes to his left and right, we dont give the opposition anything to think about. Also he holds onto it for quite a long time before kicking long, it just gives them time to get shape back.
When Habsi played (I know it was Lincoln) he would kick it long when it was on. ie all their players were pushed up in our half leaving big gaps at the other end. And most of the rest of the time he would roll or throw it to feet which meant we built better moves with the ball.

Re: jussi? drop?
I've noticed that with Jussi, quite often he'll ignore any players out wide that he could throw to their feet. His preference is always to boot it long, and even then he boots it to their keeper every so often.
It's a tough call as to whether you'd drop him as he makes a lot of good saves. Even so, he'll have a game every now and then where he's really annoying!! Last night was one such game.

Re: jussi? drop?
I have to agree, Jussi is a great goalie,But with all our probs in defence this season his place in the team is never in doubt.
Maybe it's time for a rest? A couple of games out will hurt his pride a little and drive him on to improve his game?
And maybe, Ali will Punch anything in the box above head hight that should not be in or around our box i.e like a football, And moan at his back four, But above all make the six yard box his own.....
Its Easy owen..........

Season before last Al Habsi kept us up when Jussi was out, he was outstanding, time to give him a run.

I'm with the "give Al-Habsi a chance" group.
Jussi was quite woeful last night.

Face it or ignore the truth, Jusssi has built for himself, quite a great reputatn at the reebok; but, right now he's quite lost his form.
I think we beter consider givin Habsi his chance and await jussi's retirement before he crashlands like Jay Jay. I think its better for him to quit when he's still okay and not when he's having spell on the Bench

Dear me.
Jussi may have had a poor game against Arsenal but he's been great this season. Hardly cause to drop him.

Re: jussi? drop?
I disagree that Jussi's been "great" this season Laughtoe. He's been inconsistent with some bright spots.
When does Al-Habsi get his chance if he's never given it? He's a decent (possibly excellent) goalie that will leave if he never gets games.
