Tim,

Thought you might be interested in this article. Please forward it to Messrs Megson and Gartside when you have finished.

That an excellent article/blog review.

Did you catch the one regarding Kevin Nolan on Wednesday?

Yes I did Wendy, as you say it was very good. I think a move away was probably the best thing that could happen to Kevin Nolan, and his career has certainly blossomed again this season. The catch will be to see if he can maintain his form if Newcastle should come back up to the Premier League.

Cheers buddy, really enjoyed that. It is so true, I think Coyle is so much better than Megson, would be so wonderful to watch a team with courage and fire like that.

Coyle can only be judged when the honeymoon period is over and Burnley find themselves near relegation (which will happen at some point in the next season and a half).

Come off it H.

Let's acknowledge talent when we see it, especially the talent to manage a club in the top league on a modest budget: Burnley and B..... for example.

Plus, a promotion to the Prem and a decent first half of the season is already worthy of applause.

I'm happy that Coyle is doing well but I'm not cracking one off every time Burnley win or get good press like some of you lot. And I seem to have a much better memory than others as well when you consider the rave reviews given to so manager new managers in the Premier league, most of whom are either fogotten about or playing hoof-ball.

Coyle's a good bloke, a thoroughly decent fella and he's done wonders at Burnley but, as I said before, PL managers should be judged by how they cope when one of the wheels falls off because it almost certainly will. I wish Coyle well...but I don't wish Burnley well!

Me neither.
I'm looking at Coyle as a potential recruit though - not judging his career for a place in the hall of fame. As far as the former is concerned, he's got the job.

Well Coyle has apparently turned down both Celtic and Scotland so that would signal his intention on seeing out at least one full season in the PL with Burnley. I said before the season that teams like Burnley, Hull and Wigan (and possibly us) will have to use the transfer window wisely because almost all of them will find themselves having to patch up the first team with guff-monkeys and lard-chops, Our back up players are probably much better than those of the three clubs mentioned so I expect at least one of them to suffer badly through injuries or suspensions. It wouldn't surprise me to see quite a divide between the top 8 clubs and the rest of the league this season.

It's like the voice of sodding doom, we can't expect much, we are only a small club, Coyle is doing ok but just wait for the wheels to fall off. It is all just a smokescreen to try to justify how crap Megson is. Coyle is doing well, whilst playing attacking courageous football, exactly the opposite of Megson.

Again tim i have to say your wrong, Owen coyle has nothing to lose, If burnley stay up he is a god, If they go down he will still be a god only a little bit smaller, Next season( if they stay up) will be a tester for him as he will need to spend money

Excuse me, lots of managers have come into the premier and played dire defensive football, look at Megson when he came to us.

Zola got an awful lot of praise last season...my first piss of the day is stronger than that shower he put out last week. Judge managers over time and seasons. Don't get me wrong, I like Owen and a like his attitude but calm down with the plaudits, it's only December (although in Burnley it's technically December 1982).
