Re: you won't believe this poll !
I am as shocked as you and there must be a fair few voters as my yes vote hardly swayed the percentages. Maybe people misunderstood and voted no, because they thought he should have been sacked ages ago!
Having said which there is wall to wall media support for him, so probably most have never even seen us play.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
Because Bolton fans have to realise that our objective is survival and even a new manager will have that same remit.
The few glory seasons under BSA have been and gone...if they could be repeated then how come Sam is struggling under the same conditions now at Blackburn? New manager or old manager...survival first and foremost.

your right ofcorse breeze, but I think we'd survive better under a manager like Hughes or even Souness ....!

I think you can shoot higher than just survival, also I don't think you have to tolerate the terrible football, cowardice and tactical ineptitude we have been subject to.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
Of course we CAN survive better but the remit will still be the same...and what no-one seems to realise is that certain managers will want to be part of some new regime of high ambition and success and that really isn't realistic of a club that hasn't won anything for over half a century. In other words the more 'Hollywood' the manager the sooner is the likelihood they will fuck off after they get bored with battling relegation and wheeler-dealing for budget transfers.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
Why do you consider it so surpising? The poll won't be of Bolton fans, it will be of football fans in general. Some of them believe Megson to have done a good job in difficult circumstances which will offset the 100% yes vote from the Bolton support.

Breeze I asked you what you had been talking about with Gartside, as you know I have not disclosed what you have told me in the past, so I see no reason for you to be a prick, but clearly that is just your nature.

You really think I have spoken with Gartside? I hope you manage to buy a sense of humour in Duty Free on your way back from Switzerland.

You should read it again...it is clearly tongue-in-cheek, Timothy.

Well as one of his only two friends, and bearing in mind he has just had to sack the other to prevent a riot, you would have thought you could have given him a ring to cheer him up.

You are the naive fool that thinks that senior posts in business are just left vacant during crucial periods so as not to upset the person who had been fired for not doing their job properly.

Not really been out walking it is a white out here, had a couple of Jaeger Teas. I just do not accept that it would be acceptable for the club only now starting to draw up a list of candidates, that is pretty close to the most ridiculous thing breeze has ever suggested and that is saying something.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
Tim, how is the senior post left vacant? We have a caretaker manager in charge. If Megson had been ill this same bloke would have taken over during that interim period...it's one of the reasons the whole of the coaching staff has been left intact rather than sacking all of them in one go.
Show some patience - the club will probably have a short-list already close to fully compiled. Everything is in order - that's how business works.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
The caretaker will not be buying players the window opens tomorrow, it should already have been done. At the very least a complete list should have been in place. It is not how big business works, but then it is to be expected from someone small time like Gartside.

Small time like Gartside? Hmm, I bet you'd swap your bank account for his, Tiny Tim.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
Come breeze chin up we all make mistakes. Lets just hope your right and we go for coyle, it strikes me from what he said that he would welcome it, maybe the response he got from our fans in the game at Burnley swayed him. I would be over the moon if it was him, I think we would suddenly have a totally united club again and the football would get better. People in the game really do think Coyle is going to the very top.

Re: you won't believe this poll !
Tim's setting himself up to have something else to moan about after the appointment is made...when it isn't Owen Coyle.
Truth of the matter is that the Board probably did have a shortlist of candidates and have probably started the process; may have already agreed terms with someone for all we know. However, they aren't about to announce it before at least Monday and more likely AFTER the Arsenal game since clubs don't want their new manager on a hiding from the get-go due to losing AWAY at the Emirates (very likely result, no matter who the new manager is).
Either the club haven't talked to Curbishley, Hughes, etc. or there is hope that one of them will join us...since they've not distanced themselves officially.
From what I get from Coyle's statement, he has distanced himself. So has Phil Brown...was he even in the running?
