The "entertainmet"
People have started to say we look decent going forward, we look threatening and we are entertaining. I kind of disagree! We look bad on the ball and going forward and...
Yes, whilst the games are more entertaining, i think we are deluding ourselves. The games are more entertaining only when compared to the absolute rubbish served up last season, but frankly it could not have got any worse and would have been difficult even to emulate the same level of boring we all endured for so long.
It simply had to get better.
Having said that, it doesnt really mean we are now doing ok entertainment wise, its just because our standards have slipped so low that we will now accept almost anything else as being decent/attacking football.
It really is not the case.
I rewatched motd from the weekend, and since there were about 5 games on sat and 5 on sun it showed a decent few mins of each team, and i know its only highlights but...
...every other team in every single game showed more composure on the ball, better passing, more positivity and demonstrated better attacking moves and more eyecatching football than I have seen Bolton do in any game for a long long while.
(and i know it doesnt show many minutes of each game but at least each and every team showed something during their games that you wouldnt find if you trawled back through the last 2 seasons of Bolton matches)
- i really do think there are massive massive improvements to be made-

Can't argue with anything you have said JayJay, you have encapsulated clearly my thoughts about our play compared to the rest of the league. The frustrating thing is, on the odd occasions when we have got the ball down and knocked it around we have been as good as almost any other team. Unfortunately it has not been often enough.

Re: The "entertainmet"
For me the answer is to play Elmander and Klasnic up front. Maybe then, and only then, will we lose the mentality of "kick it up field to Davies - he might win it"!
The midfield will have to play football and, with Muamba, Mark Davies, Gardner, Taylor, Lee, Cohen, Riga and Basham we have lots of capable options.
Unfortunately I don't think Megson will see it this way.

I sometimes think the most significant team changes come about through injuries and bannings from yellow and red cards.
Perhaps fate will take a hand and rescue our season.

I've been eagerly awaiting the chance to see Elmander and Klasnic pairing up for a run of games. Hope we get to see what they can do together sooner rather than later.

Re: The "entertainmet"
the thing is for me, if davies ended up with a red or a few yellows and was banned, megson would immediately shift down a gear because he sees davies as our savior.
he would be more likely to think, with davies out we have no chance, and would then bring mccann back into the side for some reason. he would stick elmander up on his own and take lee out saying we cant afford to drop points and need to sit tight whilst we cope with the loss of our most influential player. we will see.
i think i have a doom and gloom head on today, err this year. sorry all.
