Big chance for Wanderers...
Saturday, 19 December 2009
Arsenal v Hull, 17:30
Aston Villa v Stoke, 15:00
Blackburn v Tottenham, 15:00
Fulham v Man Utd, 15:00
Man City v Sunderland, 15:00
Portsmouth v Liverpool, 12:45
Sunday, 20 December 2009
Everton v Birmingham, 15:00
West Ham v Chelsea, 16:00
Wolverhampton v Burnley, 13:30
Monday, 21 December 2009
Wigan v Bolton, 20:00
Bolton are the only team to play on Monday so we get the chance to see exactly how the other games go down and know exactly what we need to do. The chance is also a doube one becasue our main rivals are facing the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Villa and Wolves face a tough Burnley test. A further boost is the fact that Bolton have a game in hand on nearly every team in the bottom half.
If the weekend games go according to the bookies guesses and Bolton can take 3 points on Monday the table will look like this.
pts
23 Fulham
21 Sunderland
21 Stoke
20 Everton
19 Bolton (joint 13th position)
19 Blackburn
19 Burnley
19 Wolves
18 Wigan
17 Hull
14 West Ham
11 Pompy
4 teams on 19 points just 2 points away from the relegation zone. Very tight. If we were to win our game in hand too we would then be in 10th just a point behind Fulham. It is all specualtion though. This outcome presumes Wolves will beat Burnley and that the bottom 3 plus Blackburn Stoke Fulham and Sunderland all lose. Not to mention that Bolton will have to win away against Wigan who are tipped to beat us.
If that happens it could all be so different. Even with all those other teams losing, if Bolton lose against Wigan we are back in the relegation places on 16 points.
Let's see what happens.
Which way is it going to go?
