No-one has voted for either of the bookies' favourites in Jewell or Reid. That's encouraging.

That's because those fools are down the Reebok, being interviewed by Sky! God, some people should keep it shut! Reid...NOOOOO; Jewell...NOOOOO, Dowie...NOOOOO!
I voted Hughes, though I'd be fine with Curbishley or McClaren.

Don't know enough about Irvine, although I believe he's a gritty Scot so he MUST be a good manager.

Coyle.
Think he's perfect for the job.
Failing that, Stan Anderson or Charlie Wright.

Stan Anderson has ruled himself out this morning.... siting the fact he's a little too old as the reason, but did conceed that its a fantastic oppotunity and had he been 3 yrs younger would have jumped at the chance !

Re: Poll Vote for new manager!
Tony Pulis has been asked on SSN about Peter Reid, and has said he wouldn't stand in his way if he was offered the position... I really hope we're not in for him!!
The glimmer of hope from that piece is that Pulis says he would hope that Reid would speak to him first, and that Bolton would approach Stoke before speaking to Reid... which hopefully suggests that nothing - certainly officially - has been discussed.
I'm trying to be patient, but at the same time I'm itching for us to get hold of a new boss - hopefully someone to be excited about, like Hughes or Curbs.
Never thought I'd say 'excited' and 'Hughes' or 'Curbs' in the same sentence, but there you go.

I'm going to edit that and say optimistic instead of excited.

What we need is a big name and one that's associated with success.
I'd go for Brian Clough's widow.

Re: Poll Vote for new manager!
Coyle is the "fans favourite" but Curbishley has the experience, as does Hughes. Media say Hughes is stilled owed money from City so that would prevent him becoming manager if he wants the cash.
The more I think about it, barring Hughes, my #1 choice is Curbishley.

Breeze, you're just fishing for a contractual small-print lesson from Tim... pack it in!

Re: Poll Vote for new manager!
I've just seen that Neil Warnock is thought to be among the contenders, obviously if Coyle turns it down.
Please God, noooooooo! Not this buffoon.
We can be a laughing stock at the best of times (rightly or wrongly) but this guy really is a tit!

I think Curbs is Gartside's second choice, I hope so, totally agree don't want Warnock anywhere near the club.
